Pastori, an Alexander Valley Tradition

Pastori Vineyards has a rich legacy in Sonoma County’s Alexander Valley that dates back to the early 1900s. The Pastori family’s winemaking tradition began when dirt poor Italian immigrant ancestors purchased land north of Geyserville, often starting by getting bud wood from their neighbors and grafting on existing vines. The property, like all of Sonoma County, was a mix of crops—apples, pears, prunes, and grapes—but over time it transformed into a dedicated vineyard.

Frank Pastori, the second generation, embodied the work ethic of his Italian heritage. As a youngster, he toiled alongside his family, learning the rhythms of the land. A true local historian and pioneer in Geyserville, Frank nurtured the family vineyards for decades, well into his 90s. His passing at the age of 100 in 2020 marked the end of an era, but his legacy lives on with his grandson, Paolo Pastori Ng, representing our family's fourth generation. Guided by Frank's wisdom and vision, Paolo infuses new energy into Pastori Vineyards, honoring our Italian roots while embracing innovation. Our winery, situated at 23189 Geyserville Ave in Cloverdale, one mile north of Geyserville, retains its "old school" Sonoma County charm, inviting guests to experience the heart and soul of our heritage by reservation.

Our wines tell the story, from the robust reds of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Zinfandel to our delicate white and dessert blends. Being members of the Historic Vineyard Society, we're committed to preserving California's historic vineyards, a reflection of our respect for history and dedication to the future.

Our recent release of Old Vine Zinfandel and Centurian Old Vine Zinfandel embodies our journey—honoring those Italian pioneers who played a pivotal role in cultivating Zinfandel in California, reminiscent of wines from their homeland. These limited-edition wines capture the essence of our vineyard’s storied past while embracing innovation and promise of the future in every bottle.
